What is the opportunity?

  • The ET&SS team will bridge gap from Architecture to Run the Bank production services by delivering new technologies from the development / architecture teams to production services in a supportable manner.
  • Focussing on the infrastructure / application engineering, monitoring, automation, documentation and training to enable our CM partner IT teams to work more efficiently.

  • Working closely with partner CM and T&O teams to ensure the highest level of standards in design, and deployment.
  • Through proper adherence to and enforcement of industry best practices the ETSS team will directly contribute to both the supportability of the shared systems as well as reusability of technology across CM
  • What will you do?

  • Work with CM and T&O partners to ensure new environments are engineered to the CM Architecture requirements for new strategy items ensuring risks are minimized and that needs are fully understood and met.
  • Match the right solutions from the development teams to front office

  • Proactively identify operational risks / control deficiencies in the technology stack and assist with the automation of routine tasks, center of excellence behaviours (20%)
  • Strong product ownership responsibility (10%)
  • Must be able to work independently on project deliveries after requirements gathering as well as in a dynamic team environment (20%)
  • Requirements to continually learn the latest cutting edge products and technologies (10%)
  • Focus on continual improvement and efficiency of production services for the related Emerging Technology Shared Services Support Team (10%)

    What do you need to succeed?

    Experience working on a cluster / Grid environment.

    Operational expertise in troubleshooting, system capacity, bottlenecks, basics of memory, CPU, kernel, and storage.

    Solid Linux / Unix Knowledge; Strong scripting skills Bash, Python / Pearl.

    Knowledge of Core Hadoop in HA environment : HDFS, Yarn, Hive, Zookeeper, MapReduce.

    Experience with Monitoring Tools used to monitor Hadoop stack.

    Must have :

  • BA / BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar field
  • Knowledge of contemporary programming and scripting languages, including middleware
  • Technical Curiosity be well versed in current technology, whether it’s hands-on-smarts or via technical training
  • Knowledge of Networking principles
  • Knowledge of Unix / Linux
  • Understanding of application monitoring principles and practices
  • Nice-to-have :

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with partner teams
  • Understanding broader corporate vision, strategy, and how delivery of new technology pipeline impacts the bottom line in a meaningful way
