Summary of Responsibilities :

This is a dual reporting position, to the Strategic Partnerships & Marketing Manager, Food & Beverage as well as the Executive Meeting Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following :

  • Event planning of strategic partnership events
  • Support Executive Meetings Manager with event bookings
  • Create and distribute banquet event orders for small group events
  • Communicate with clients on details for private event bookings
  • Liaise with operations team to support the successful execution of events
  • Support online community management, engagement and growth for Fairmont Pacific Rim Food & Beverage social media channels such as facebook, twitter and Instagram
  • Support and implement Food & Beverage focused social media content and strategies
  • Respond to online Food & Beverage reviews and guest feedback on third party sites such as Open Table, Yelp, Zomato
  • Conduct regular audits of online sites to confirm accuracy and relevancy of information
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications :

  • A passion for all things hospitality is required
  • The ability to be happy and welcoming, responsive and solution oriented is a must
  • Experience in an administrative role, well versed with Microsoft Office tools
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to handle the pressures of providing excellent service in a fast paced atmosphere with genuine interest and passion for food, wine and crafted cocktails
  • Experience with event planning
  • Experience using digital marketing and social media tools such as facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, etc.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to) :

  • Frequent sitting
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
  • Visa Requirements : Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
