POSITION SUMMARY
As the Accountant, you will help us meet reporting deadlines and ensure reliable, accurate information is provided to key decision makers in a timely manner.

Sales Audit
Be the key member of the accounting team to prepare sales and cash reconciliation for our retail stores and eComm store.
Reconcile cash and sales deposits weekly and communicate with key personnel across the business to investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.
Analyze issues and determine next steps; escalate as required.
Work closely with our Retail and IT team to build a solid store-close procedures.
Create thorough process documentation on cash management and sales reconciliation processes.
Support in testing and implementation of new cash processes and projects at the retail and finance level.
Financial Reporting
Record day to day financial transactions using NetSuite
Assist with the month end close processes (preparation of journal entries, recurring entries and accruals)
Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts when necessary
Assist external auditors as part of our year-end audit by preparing working paper files that support the financial statements and responding to inquiries
Prepare and submit government tax remittances
Maintain paper and electronic filing system to provide accurate paperwork records
Build relationships and effectively communicate with suppliers, cross functionally and within the department
Take initiatives to improve processes and internal controls
Adapts to changes quickly
Ad hoc duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 2-3 years of full cycle accounting experience
Post-secondary degree or diploma (preferably in Business Administration or Accounting); CPA is a plus
Working knowledge of Netsuite will be preferred
Excellent communications skills, both in verbal and written
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and able to prioritize tasks
Proven ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines
Self-motivated and results-oriented
Strong work ethic, energetic, positive attitude and flexible
Ability to work independently, and enjoys a collaborative and creative work environment
