On behalf of our client in Montreal Quebec, Procom are looking for a Bilingual DFS Technical Support Technician to work on a 3 month contract.

DFS Technical Support Technician Responsibilities :

  • Candidate must maintain good customer focus meeting deadlines and service level agreements (SLA’s).
  • Technician maybe site based or may require travel to different client’s locations.
  • Will perform troubleshooting of Routers, Switches and connectivity in the client’s local environment. Resolve issues with network infrastructure and / or components.
  • Equipment covered includes server support, and network smart hands
  • Installation and configuration of computer and software equipment, including connection to customer networks, data backup etc.
  • The candidate must be comfortable evolving in the field of customer service
  • DFS Technical Support Technician Required Qualifications :

  • networking environments
  • customer service experience
  • Able to work weekends, staggered or late shifts possibly including evenings and / or weekends
  • Reliable Transportation (This is a driving position reimbursed accordingly)
  • Able to work weekends, staggered or late shifts possibly including evenings and / or weekends
  • Need to be very personable and demonstrate a strong Customer Service presence, as they will be interacting with a wide range of users and environments.
  • Need to be able to follow instructions, communicate clearly, and work well with end users, remote NOC, etc.
  • Have a working understanding of :
  • o VLAN’s, access / Security and Access Points

    o Network Protocols, such as : TCP / IP, NAT, OSPF, EIGRP and Multicast

    o Multilayer Switches and Routers in a LAN environment

  • Ability to manage priorities
  • Basic understanding of networks.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Smartphone with teethering / hot spot capabilities (Reimbursed within Corporate Guidelines)
  • Laptop
  • Basic Hand Tools
  • Crossover Cables, Console Cables, and Rollover Cables
  • LAN Tester / Tone tool
  • Installation and configuration of computer and software equipment, including connection to customer networks, data backup etc.
  • The candidate must be comfortable evolving in the field of customer service. Diploma DEP in Computer Support or equivalent.
  • The candidate must own a car. 30% driving (100 km a day)
  • A good knowledge of English would be preferable.
  • The work schedule is usually from 8 : 30 am to 5 : 00 pm but additional time may be required depending on assignments and projects. Windows 7, Win10.
