A day in the life
As a Warehouse Manager, you will oversee the Sugarfina distribution facility in Vancouver. In this role, you will be in charge of managing all inventory, leading the team in processing all of our products, and ensuring the facility itself operates smoothly.
You’ll create and implement all of the policies and procedures at our facility such that all of our online, retail, corporate and wholesale customers experience a consistently high quality product.
You excel in driving productivity, breaking down complex tasks, and communicating with your staff and home office.
Inventory management Establish and implement effective inventory policies and procedures. Oversee ordering from suppliers, receiving all product and matching to original invoices, and tracking inventory levels of all product, packaging and other essential supplies.
Implement FIFO inventory practices.
Product and Packaging Forecasting Develop forecasting methodology to predict company-wide needs for product, packaging, and other essential supplies.
Incorporate these forecasts into a consolidated ordering plan to ensure sufficient stock levels.
Fulfillment Oversee fulfillment for all business channels (retail, online, custom, corporate and wholesale). Provide logistical support to order fulfillment team to make sure that all orders are shipped in a timely manner.
Coordinate with our retail stores to ensure that proper inventory levels are maintained at all times at those locations.
Facilities Management Manage all aspects of the physical plant including equipment and all work areas within the warehouse.
Establish and maintain a safe, clean, organized and efficient work environment.
The Bottom Line Partner with COO and Finance to identify opportunities to optimize financials, such as : negotiate with vendors to achieve better pricing;
identify and implement production efficiencies; reduce shipping costs; reduce waste
Leadership - Recruit, train and manage schedules for build team. Implement process improvements to improve efficiency and productivity.
Track team member productivity and provide training and support when necessary.

3-5+ years experience overseeing a warehouse or other large distribution facility
2+ years experience in leading a team of direct reports
Proven expertise and experience in forecasting, supply chain management, purchasing, distribution, and / or logistics
CPG and / or food industry experience preferred
Strong quantitative skills, including proficient use of Excel and other computer programs
Strong leader, team player, communicator, project manager, multi-tasker, executor, self-starter, and cross-functional influencer
Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, results-focused, and fast-paced startup environment
Can-do attitude and passion about making a difference
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business; will require some weekends, evenings and holidays
Ability to remain in a stationary position constantly during your shift. This position will be working in a warehouse environment.
Will be occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or otherwise move self in a reasonable way position to perform the essential duty.
Ability to safely exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The general working hours are from 7 : 00 am to 4 : 00pm.
Flexibility is a necessity as overtime may be required from time to time to meet the needs of the business that will require weekends, evenings, and holidays.
