Installs, inspects, maintains, and repairs : Sinks, showers, toilets, ice machines and other plumbing and heating fixturesKitchen equipment, grease traps, drain traps etc.
Patient related plumbing equipment
Unplugs sinks, toilets, drains. Repairs or replaces fixtures and fittings as necessary
Replaces washers, faucets, and broken pipes
Performs preventative maintenance of plumbing fixtures, systems etc., and assists landlord where appropriate
Performs general maintenance and repairs including repairs to ceilings, walls, floors, and trim
Performing general maintenance upkeep duties such as painting, as directed and inspecting and correcting the facility for deficiencies, and repairing items as required.
Stays current with all applicable building and plumbing codes, and all other relevant codes and standards in order to provide the safe and proper installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems and fixtures.
Ensure a work environment that is conducive to The Royal Harassment Free policy
Mandatory licensed plumber, plus five years experience
Possession of a Certificate of Qualification, Province of Ontario Plumber (five 5 year apprenticeship)
Ontario Secondary High School Diploma
Welders certificate would be considered an asset
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions applicable to hospital maintenance and construction.
Employee must adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other legislative enactments, and well as organizational policies and procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to interpret blueprints, schematics and drawings
Able to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications and computer systems for monitoring automated systems (e.g., key control systems, electronic locking systems, security applications)
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
Valid driver’s license
