Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of production workers.
Establish methods to meet work schedules, and coordinate work activities with all departments.
Resolve work problems; recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
Train workers in job duties, department specific safety procedures, and company policies.
Make recommendations pertaining to hiring, promotions, and transfers.
Maintain a fair and equal standard of discipline of company rules and safety policies.
Prepare production and other reports.
Set up machines and equipment when required.
Ensure smooth operation of equipment and machinery and arrange for maintenance and repair work.
Seek out and capture opportunities for cost reduction and continuous improvement.
Ensure all health and safety requirements are met
Minimum Qualifications :
Computer literacy using Microsoft Office
Post-secondary education in materials management or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience
1 to 3 years of relevant work experience in a production environment.
Good working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
Good communication skills, both oral and written
Proven ability to work with others and on teams
Proven problem-solving skills and good decision-making track record
Job task planning and organizing skills
