Description

  • Responsible for preparation and analysis of financial statements in a multi-currency and multi-operation environment
  • Responsible for strategic planning, budget and forecast analysis and costing policy
  • Develop and implement new accounting processes and procedures, as needed, to support changing business demands
  • Drive consistency in accounting and data collection processes, tools, formats, templates to mitigate risk
  • Ensure accounting practices are in accordance with CPI’s internal controls, US GAAP, and SOX requirements
  • Represent the company when dealing with auditors
  • Assist in variety of tax functions- Canadian and US tax
  • Report financial results with analysis to division management and corporate controller
  • Implement financial plan and policies for the business unit
  • Represents company and division in tax and other compliance audits
  • Manage and report on cash flow. Deal with company banking relationships
  • Review and manage payroll functions.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Lead a team of direct reports
  • Maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Commerce
  • CPA Designation (CA, CGA, CMA) preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing environment, with experience in budgeting, forecasting and costing analysis
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Canadian tax experience preferred
  • Experience in revenue recognition an asset (FASB ASC 606)
  • Solid MS Office skills with a high proficiency in Excel
  • Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated skills as a leader and a team player
  • Experience working under strict deadlines and willing to work beyond normal work hours in order to meet reporting or project due dates
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment and readily adapt to changing work priorities
  • Valid passport with ability to travel to U.S.
