Job Summary :
Provide leadership and direction to Supervisors and Lead Hands, ensuring that production, shipping, quality and quantity standards are maintained.
To train, develop, direct and discipline employees so that the business unit has a productive and efficient workforce to meet scheduled requirements in a safe environment.
Required Qualifications :
College diploma and / or combination of Grade 12 with 5-10 years of Supervisory / Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of ISO / , TS 16949.
Extensive knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements as per training matrix

Listening to employee's problems and / or concerns when they arise and to seek a prompt and mutually acceptable resolution.
Immediately advise Supervisor and / or Human Resources Manager on unresolved concerns.
Mentor and guide the team unit when needed.
Ensure compliance to established procedures and policies.
Provide written performance appraisals and personal development plans for all staff.
Ensure production effectiveness through ongoing interactions, communications, prioritizing and follow up with all support departments (maintenance, quality, engineering, shipping, materials...)
Ensure proper planning and control for all areas of responsibility (e.g. labour, overtime, equipment, travel, etc).
Actively participate in APQP and QSB meetings.
Ensure employee safety and compliance to safe practices and regulations.
Ensure that the production areas of responsibility is producing a good quality part at appropriate rates.
Analyze scrap data to identify and correct manufacturing problems.
Ensure production area meets or exceeds labor standards.
Ensure the attainment of daily production schedules
Investigate any negatives showing on the Hot List
Maintain production related records.
Provide continuous improvement ideas and to conduct Continuous Improvement projects.
Assist in inventory by providing trained production employees and ensure limited WIP on the production floor.
Ensure material handlers and operators follow FIFO when retrieving components and materials
Ensure adequate amount of materials and components are available for production needs work with Materials if there are any variances or discrepancies to be investigated
Oversee and ensure employees are provided with training on all aspects of the job.
Ensure employees are cross trained to provide flexibility and back up coverage Communicate and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Initiate corrective actions to the Supervisors and follow up on recommendations for correcting manufacturing defects.
Responsible for ensuring all training within department are completed in a timely manner and documented
Ensure that all machine / equipment are fully manned when scheduled.
Ensures housekeeping inspections are conducted and makes sure that all areas are tidy and organized
Completes LPA monthly and ensures Supervisors complete weekly LPA's as assigned
Assists in the production planning process
Ensures plant security
Ensures Martinrea Communication Protocol is followed and any open issues are closed in a timely manner, or an action plan is in place
Other duties as assigned
Plant floor and Office environment (PPE required)
Limited travel will be required
