    Weare looking for a Procurement Business Partner to be responsible for delivering value by providing safe,efficient and effective procurement and in-bound supply chainservices, establishing or improving competitive supply markets forthe purchase of goods and services, applying uniform processes ande-technologies resulting in continuous supply chain improvement,enhanced corporate social responsibility and measurable savings forDiavik and supporting operations through effective and efficientlogistics and transportation services

    This position is a great opportunity toshowcase and demonstrate your understanding of procurement bestpractices, commercial law and mining requirements, as you lead ateam.

    This positionwill be based in Yellowknife NT and will require working at thesite on a regular basis. and will bereporting to the President and COO with dotted line reporting toSenior Business Partner Commerical, youwill :

  • Contribute toDiavik’s performance as a Zero Harm workplace through engagementand active participation in safety initiatives and ensuring safetyissues are considered in work processes, negotiations andcontracts;
  • Ensure teammembers carry out sound category management processes, projectimplementation methodologies are deployed and implementation iscompleted in accordance with RTP’s process, documentation andgovernance requirements.
  • This includes processes such asnegotiation, risk mitigation, change management andinnovation.

  • Engage with RioTinto Procurement to plan and deliver high-quality procurementservices to the business - ensuring that Diavik receives thegreatest value from the sourcing function;
  • Leading andmotivating an effective procurement department to deliver theprocurement and logistics needs of thebusiness;
  • Manage winterroad participation in the Joint Venture as part of the operationsmanagement committee OMC . Responsibilities will be to ensure RioTinto’s governances, policies and procedures are followed based onthe terms and conditions of the Joint Venture.
  • Work closely withthe Director of the Joint Venture to ensure the construction,maintenance, health and safety, operation and closure of the WinterRoad

  • Governance : Contribute to a strong governance culture in Diavik by complyingwith ''The way we work'', other governance policies and proceduresand through active participation in good governance practices,etc.;
  • CustomerService : Ensure the effective delivery of all agreed services tocustomers (internal or external) at the required standards byestablishing effective partnership relationships and proactivelyparticipating in a culture of excellentservice;
  • Contribute tothe sourcing process by ensuring suppliers are selected on thebasis of safety, innovation, local content quality, service andprice - working closely with Diavik communities team to ensurelocal requirements are met.
  • Aboutyou

    Tobe successfully considered for this role, you willhave :

  • A strong safetymindset.
  • 5+ years ofprocurement, service delivery & supply chainexperience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management,Business or Engineering;
  • Previous experience with mining company,multi-national manufacturing. Remote work experiencepreferred
  • Strongcommercial acumen with proven category and contract managementcapabilities (Management all types ifcontracts);
  • Strongproject management, problem solving and customer relationshipmanagement skills;
  • Ability to achieve outcomes throughinfluencing and collaboration with others to ensure adherence tobroader finance and risk requirements;
  • Materials system skills : SAP (PTP Functions),Strong Excel and or Power BI skills (able to create managementtools such as modelling and scenario analysis etc.);
  • Ability tocommunicate succinctly verbally and in written form with bothinternal and external stakeholders;
  • An ability to work unsupervised and be aself-starter;
  • Transparent andcollaborative
  • Northern residency and experience working in across-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the uniquechallenges and opportunities presented to those living in theNorth, are assets.
