The Director of Communications and Stakeholders Engagement will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of strategic communications and stakeholder engagement for a major infrastructure project.
While managing a small team of communications professionals the Director of Communications and Stakeholders Engagement will be expected to develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with our Client and various project partners.
This will include implementing internal and external communication plans, providing content, information, videos and pictures, engaging with stakeholders and also managing issues.
The Director of Communications and Stakeholders Engagement will be our Client’s primary contact for strategic and tactical communications as well as stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to :
Support the Client Communications Team in the development, execution and continuous improvement of communication and stakeholder engagement plans
Responsible for the seamless delivery of documentation, information and communications tools that are clear and effective, meet a high professional standard and adhere to the requirements of the Client
Collaborate with the Client in creating, planning, managing and delivering both short and long-term communications strategies, crisis management and stakeholder engagement plans
Work collaboratively with the Client Communication Team as well as the project leadership team in managing sensitive media and stakeholder issues
As part of the project’s management team, use sound judgement and a professional demeanor to advise fellow members of the management team, the Client team and in all dealings with partners and stakeholders
Work with the Client to develop policies and processes that create clear roles and responsibilities and contribute to efficient operations
Collaborate with the Client to develop and manage relationships with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders
Engage senior management to review and respond to communication and stakeholder engagement requirements
Manage the communications and stakeholder engagement budget and KPIs
Supervise the development of a wide range of communication tools, such as public notices, newsletters, presentations, brochures, advertisement, brand integration, videos, and online content
Work with multidisciplinary teams to plan and implement comprehensive programs and initiatives, including internal communications, sponsorship events and award submissions
Represents the project team and the interests of the project at associated meetings and other formal and informal events and meetings
Manage and develop the Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Team
University degree in Communications or Public Relations (or other relevant education)
Minimum of 10 years of communications experience leading communications and stakeholders engagement on transit and transportation projects

Political skills to provide leadership to the team, partners and client
An analytical, strategic thinker;
Resilient and comfortable in a complex, fast-paced environment
English / French bilingualism would be preferred
