Your Opportunity

We are looking to expand our archaeology team in BC’s Interior and are seeking a fulltime Project Manager and Field Director based out of the Quesnel or Prince George offices.

Work will take place throughout British Columbia, in various industries.

Your Key Responsibilities

Act as a Project Manager and Field Director in the Interior Plateau Culture Area.

Manage and execute all aspects of archaeological projects.

Work closely with other Project Managers and Team Leads to organize resourcing and logistics.

Monitor project financials with the assistance of a financial team.

Participate in business development and proposal preparation.

Liaise with First Nations, clients and regulators.

Work closely with Permit Holders and Field Directors to deliver technically sound recommendations for cultural resources management.

Lead preliminary field reconnaissance surveys, archaeological impact assessments, monitoring, and excavation when required.

Manage crews or project teams of up to five individuals.

Write or quality review permit applications, interim reports, final reports, site forms and proposals.

Actively participate in and promote Stantec’s HSSE programs.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Interior Plateau Field Director. HoldingField Director status in other culture areas an asset.

Registered Professional ConsultingArchaeologist (RPCA) designation an asset.

Project Management Professional (PMP)designation an asset.

Highly organized and willing to work ina fast-paced environment.

Willing to conduct field work up to 50%of the time during field season.

Able to mentor junior staff.

Willing to travel for work.

Desire to work closely with otherenvironmental professionals and First Nations.

A valid class 5 driver’s license; ATVand Snowmobile training an asset.

Education and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology is required.

A minimum of 7 years of cultural resource management experience

required with a minimum 2 years of experience managing projects.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.
