The Director, Accounting Policy & Procedure Implementation Leads and oversees APPI Financial Instruments globally (excluding Canadian Banking) and accounting-
related issues for GBM units (excluding US entities, non-trading loans / guarantees, and non-FI revenue recognition) ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
This will require staying abreast of proposed changes to IFRS accounting standards, as well as new financial reporting & disclosure required by regulatory bodies (e.
g., OSFI, Financial Stability Board).
This will involve the design and implementation of new financial reporting processes and controls in order to operationalize and ensure compliance with accounting policies, as well as the accuracy & completeness of financial disclosure requirements.
Adequate supervision of staff is required to ensure implementation is successful, including the review of accounting entries and communication with stakeholders.
It will also involve advising executives of proposed changes and the impact on the all-Bank results.
