The Specialist responsible support the Building team in proposing and implementing technical solutions that maximize project profitability and improve product performances, focus in building performance including thermal and acoustic performance of the façade.


  • To check the adequacy of thermal and acoustic performance requirements set in the specification and feedback to
  • tender department and the client; with direction from the Building Physicist team, Leader or Engineering Manager.

  • To confirm the compliance of thermal and acoustic performance; check the adequacy of design and of material
  • selection to ensure and verify the right materials will be used and that the design conforms to the Client’s building


  • Support the Building Physicist team in liaising with the Client / Builder, the LDI and Architect to ensure the
  • adequacy of the specification set, to verify all the necessary requirements for the Curtain Wall design comply with

    the project specifications and relevant codes.

  • Ensure that all thermal and acoustic performance requirements of the Curtain Wall are achieved and that tests and
  • calculations conducted are documented and properly recorded

  • As needed, attend performance Mock up sites prior and during testing to ensure all aspects have been executed
  • correctly, together with façade engineer

  • Prepares or coordinates all thermal calculations for details drawn by the Technical Department; also calculation for
  • acoustics performance when necessary

  • To coordinate and organize calculation submission to the building office prior to site installation
  • To coordinate with the Technical Manager and / or Project Manager to ensure that thermal, acoustics resistance
  • engineering aspects are applied to site installation and erection and to assist in resolving alternations to any design

    change due to As-Built conditions

  • To maintain proper filing record of thermal, acoustics calculation and project correspondence related to structural
  • issues

  • To organize As-Built calculation for submission with P.E. endorsement
  • Visit sites on a needed basis to ensure that all aspects have been executed correctly
  • Any other tasks assigned by regional Building Physics Principle Engineer
  • Share in the day to day responsibility for implementing the affirmative action program which includes, but is not
  • limited to, responding to AA / EEO inquiries / investigations and participating in recruitment efforts

  • As an employee of the company, you must be involved in safety initiatives and programs such as the safety

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Architecture, Civil / Structural
  • 0-3 years’ experience in curtainwall industry or fenestration or glaziery
