About This Opportunity

Duffus Health Centre is seeking a full-time family physician to join this collaborative care clinic of 11 family physicians, a community based psychiatrist, three family practice nurses, and a full-time social worker.

Located on Bayers Road in Halifax, the clinic holds collaborative partnerships with Pediatric Mental Health and the IWK Woman’s Health Clinic.

Composed of a group of dynamic and skilled individuals, the physicians working at Duffus Health Centre are highly collaborative and actively engage in cross referrals of patients within the group (IUD insertion, joint injections, accutane treatment, obesity counselling, HTN and cardiac assessment, minor procedures, etc.

This provides a wide scope of practice for the physicians and diverse service offerings to the patients.

There is a walk-in clinic for patients of the clinic every weekday morning where the physicians rotate coverage. There is no call requirement and physicians are free to set their own clinic schedules to best suit their needs (evening and weekend clinics can be booked at the discretion of the physician).

Typically the physicians cross cover for one another so it is not necessary to secure locum coverage for vacations / conferences / short term illness.

All administrative services are provided along with all necessary practice infrastructure (furnished examination rooms, computers, etc.
