Specific accountabilities :
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the various IT infrastructures and systems function properly in everyday use, by using the ticketing system and management consoles in place.
He helps in the implementation of all new solutions or the improvement of existing solutions in accordance with operational and integration guidelines.
In addition, he will be called upon to work with the infrastructure integrator to prepare or improve operational guidelines for the technologies he administers.
Ensure environment availability, stability and performance, by putting in place various procedures, controls and calendar of operations, by implementing packages, by developing technical documentation, such as technical architecture plans;
Develop performance and tracking indicators;
Identify problems and provide recommendations to key stakeholders;
Provide guidance and technical expertise to support the IT staff when needed;
Ensure the evolution of the different platforms, for example new versions and service packs;
Plan demand for capacity;
Maintain a watch on emerging technologies related to the applications;
Ensure that data centres are run properly;
Address problems with technology services, including diagnosis and restoration of services during incidents;
Ensure proactive management of services and systems by using maintenance, monitoring and automation tools (event management such as SCOM);
Ensure tactical management at the operational and infrastructure service level (backup, recovery, archiving, duplication, network, servers, storage, messaging, telephony, Citrix security patches, etc.);
Install, configure and customize solutions based on the implementation booklets prepared and oversee post-implementation activities;
Maintain and update servers (operating system, hardware and applications);
Document procedures relating to IT environment administration, daily environment checks, file purges and regular updates;
Respond to support requests (N2).
College diploma in computer science or a minimum of 8 years of experience in a field of specialty;
Ability to lead research on IT problems and products;
MCSE or MSCA certification a strong asset;
Knowledge of VMWare (Vcenter, VRealize suite, Vcloud, etc );
Knowledge of backup products and replications (Recover Point, Avamar, Datadomain, Veeam, etc );
Knowledge of Microsoft products - Windows Server 2008 and later, Windows 7 and later;
Knowledge of the Microsoft System Center (SCOM and SCCM) and Exchange;
Knowledge of Active Directory, GPO, DNS and DHCP;
Experience with Citrix virtualization (XenApp / XenDesktop);
Experience with data warehousing technologies (SAN, NAS and backup technologies);
Ability to write technical documents and explain complex information in easy to understand terms;
Due to the nature of the position and extended hours of operation, the incumbent must be flexible and may be required to be available after normal business hours and on weekends as required.
