The Eye Institute of Alberta is the only hospital-based comprehensive eye treatment centre in northern Alberta. The Royal Alexandra Hospital Outpatient Eye Clinic is located in the heart of Edmonton, and we embrace our inner city-ness! We are a training centre for Residents, Medical Students and Ophthalmic personnel.
The Royal Alex is a great place to learn and develop in your career. Reporting to the Manager of the Eye Clinic, this position is one of a group of Administrative Support III staff that provide comprehensive support to the daily clinical activity.
The incumbent will be working collaboratively with a team of ophthalmologists, residents, ophthalmic personnel, nurses, medical students and community offices to ensure that the patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner.
Duties will include but will not be limited to : greeting patients, verifying patient information, scheduling diagnostic testing and clinic appointments, ensuring patient charts are complete and filing.
As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Required Qualifications :
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.Computer keyboarding skills, which will be demonstrated through a skills test.
Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Have a flexible approach to work.Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
A strong commitment to providing Patient and Family Centered Care is essential for this position.Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
