Purpose of the position

You will have, among other things : Dispense, with residents, the nursing acts that you are empowered to perform under the law and the regulations governing it, Contribute to the assessment of the resident's state of health and to the implementation of the intervention plan.

Note clinical observations in the patient's file as well as follow up on relevant information with the Head of the health service.

Participate in teaching residents and their loved ones. Your goal will be to maintain health, restore it and prevent illness while contributing to the daily lives of our residents through your personality and your smile! Specifically, your daily life with us will look like :

  • Administer medication in accordance with safety principles and the codes of ethics
  • While interacting with them, report any noticeable changes in a residents mental or physical health to the on-call nurse.
  • Answering call bells
  • Respond to all emergency situations
  • Ensure good communication as well as medical follow-ups with the vested parties
  • Help maintain the relationship of trust with residents' family and friends as well as with various stakeholders (CLSC, CSSS, etc.)
  • Collaborate in the follow-up of the medical dossiers, occasionaly arrange appointments and prescriptions for the residents
  • Assist in evaluating and adjusting therapeutic nursing plans (TNPs) for residents requiring special clinical care
  • Create and maintain metuculous notes in the residents Dossier in accordance with the requirements of the Ordre des Infirmiers et Infirmières auxiliaires du Québec (OIIAQ)
  • Contribute to the adjustment of a residents' action plan based on their observations
  • Promote and advocate for proactive care among residents
  • Identify and transmit the needs of the service department
  • Provide healthcare and wellness services to maintain and restore residents health and to help prevent illness
  • Provide a range of nursing care and treatments in order to maintain and restore residents health and to help prevent illness

  • Required qualifications :

  • A proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in health care assistance, nursing
  • Member of the OIIAQ
  • PDSB training
  • Up to date CPR / AED training certificates
  • A minimum of to years experience1undefined3undefined
  • Geriatric experience, an asset
  • Know Symo software (an advantage)
  • Level of spoken language : , intermediary french
