Under general supervision, the incumbent performs a variety of key cutting work in the area of responsibility. Accuracy and attention to detail is necessary, computer skills a must.

TYPICAL DUTIES : The following illustrative tasks indicate the level of skill required and the extent of responsibility involved in this job.

They in no way limit the incumbent to the tasks indicated :

Perform tasks using hand tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, chisels, etc.

Perform repetitive duties, e.g. assembling and disassembling of door hardware, climbing stairs, etc.;

Complete the above tasks on site in a resident / apartment type environment;

Signs out building keys to Facilities and Services personnel, emptying drop box safe at the end of the day;

Assists journeymen on large keying jobs, e.g. cutting keys, serial numbers, etc.;

Ability to work as part of a team, follow direction and perform tasks under general supervision;

High competency using computers and working with Email, Excel Word documentation and other software packages as required.

Other related duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

EDUCATION : Grade 12 Graduate or Equivalent. Experience working in a school or university environment preferred. Must be bondable.

OTHER : Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS; Must have physical ability to perform duties as described;

strong customer service skills; tact, diplomacy and discretion; excellent communication skills (oral) and a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment is essential. Must be able to pass CPIC.

Hours of Work : Monday to Friday, 7 : 30 a.m. to 3 : 30 p.m.

Note : This is a Level 2 Trainee position, pay is $27.06 / hr and this temporary position is for approximately 12 months.
