Meridian is looking for a front end developer with an eye for design to join our growing Digital Marketing team. With the recent launch of motusbank, this is an exciting time at Meridian, and this role presents a unique opportunity to work on two very different, dynamic brands.

As part of the Digital Marketing team, you will report to the Senior Manager, Digital Marketing Platforms. You’ll play a key role in supporting the development, management and maintenance of our public-facing websites.

As the Front End Developer / Publisher you’ll work directly within the CMS to ensure the Meridian and motusbank sites are always up to date.

You will also work closely with internal and external partners to influence and promote digital services across the organization.

Key Responsibilities :

Work with a multi-disciplinary team to keep websites up-to-date

Work within our content management system to maintain site content, manage site bugs, restructure web pages and publish new content

Overseeing daily ad hoc requests including site updates, blog posts, location data and other requested changes

Work with the design and content team to create new, and modify existing, web pages

Make architectural recommendations for performance, stability and security

Work closely with our internal Solutions Development IT team

Work closely with the Senior Manager, Digital Marketing Platforms to ensure projects are completed on-time and within budget

Ensure brand consistency, design and user experience best practices are followed and that websites comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

Identify and propose updates to websites to refresh content, improve site performance, enhance user experience, and increase site visibility and functionality

Ensure appropriate tagging is in place for capturing site analytics data

Optimize landing experiences for external traffic across all devices

Stay up-to-date with digital media developments

Working with external agencies on coordination of code packaging and delivery, site upgrades, information security issues

Qualifications :

University degree or diploma in a technical field or equivalent experience

  • 3 years’ experience in a front-end development role (knowledge of banking industry an asset)
  • Proficient with web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, web standards

    Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs including : Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat

    Effective communication and collaborative skills

    Demonstrated ability to be responsive to short term change, proactive, flexible, adaptable and resilient

    Excellent multi-tasking, problem-solving and time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadline

    Experience gathering and analyzing web metrics (i.e. Google Analytics, Tealium)

    Advanced experience with web content management systems (knowledge of Kentico would be an asset)

    Knowledge of current mobile-first and responsive web design best practices

    Demonstrated experience with site SEO tactics

    Experience with A / B and multivariate experiments

    Ability to take initiative and work both independently and participate collaboratively in a team environment
