  • Purpose

    Lead Service / Parts technician must provide excellent customer service and promote this idea throughout the company. The goal is to keep the parts and service departments running in an efficient and profitable manner, to increase customer satisfaction, loyalty and retention and to meet their expectations.


  • Improve customer service experience, create engaged customers and facilitate company growth.
  • Take ownership of customers issues and follow problems through to resolution under direction of management, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Forecast goals and deploy strategies focused towards and strive to meet them.
  • Develop service and parts procedures, policies and standards. Train new employees as required.
  • Keep accurate records and document customer service actions and discussions. Monitor service tasks and analyse statistics and compile accurate reports upon request.
  • Direct, schedule the activities of the parts and service departments and nurture an environment where they can excel through encouragement and empowerment.
  • Keep ahead of industry’s developments and apply best practices to areas of improvement.
  • Research and educate yourself with all our product lines and educate your personnel accordingly.
  • Control resources and utilize assets to achieve qualitative and quantitative targets.
  • Provide technical assistance to the service department in liaison with our external suppliers / warranty providers.
  • Monitor inventory and ensure adequate quantities and quality product is received.
  • Provide telephone and in person customer support.
  • Identify, determine and source parts required and then plan for delivery. Ensure freight costs are explored and the company’s and customers best interest are always considered.
  • All costs must be communicated with customers before orders are committed.

  • Maintain an orderly workflow daily within the departments according to priorities. Task personnel daily to ensure efficiency.
  • Input all sales orders and ensure all pricing is correct before submission to accounting.
  • Create and maintain all transactions in the accounting software for your departments. This will include all tasks for service department and purchase orders / back orders from the parts department.
  • Upper management must be kept informed always of any errors or issues within the software.

  • Promptly determine, process and maintain warranty claims. Communicate with our warranty providers and customers accordingly.
  • Once completed, submit to accounting.

  • Ensure all work areas are clean, organized and safe. Familiarize yourself with fire and emergency procedures.
  • Communicate with upper management to create a cohesive and professional environment.
  • Attend any training as mandated and perform any other tasks as requested by management.
