Summary :
The Steamfitter-Pipefitter is involved in connecting pipe, hydro-testing, and rigging. This work may exist indoors or outdoors depending on the scope and is typically physically demanding.

Responsibilities
Comply with Company and Client Safety rules, as well as OH&S standards
Select type of pipe, size of pipe, and systems by applying knowledge of system operation and following blueprints
Utilize pipe bending tools or machines to bend pipe
Perform pressure tests by increasing pressure in pipe systems and observing pressure gauges to test for leaks
Connect pipe utilizing threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, or fused joints and hand tools
Connect pipe with Victaulic couplers and flanged joints.
Fit pipe on corridors for welders
Install and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic components of machines and equipment, such as pumps and cylinders
Secure pipe with brackets, clamps, and hangars
Attend required safety and tailgate / toolbox meetings
May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must be an Alberta registered apprentice or ticketed journeyman (or hold an apprenticeship or journeyman certificate recognized by AIT)
CSTS-09 and / or CSO
Overhead crane and rigging considered an asset
Able to work well in a team environment
Must be physically able to lift 50lbs and climb in / under units in the field
Organized and self-motivated
Pre-employment alcohol and drug testing is a condition of employment.
