About the role
We are currently seeking the ideal candidate to replace the Director of our Payroll Department.
With the current director’s upcoming retirement and the implementation of a new ERP system (Workday), the candidate will be able to smoothly transition into their new role with the guidance and support of the current director.
LOCATION : Montreal (2020 boul. Robert-Bourassa)
What you'll do here :
Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources Operations, you will be responsible for the compensation of more than 16,000 employees across Canada.
You will be surrounded by an extraordinary team that handles day-to-day operations and has a deep knowledge of the pay cycle.
Working closely with the Compensation teams, the HRdirect team, the HRMS team and the Finance Department, you will share your recommendations on implementing new remuneration policies, new legislation and any other decisions that affect employee compensation.
You are motivated to implement and regularly review effective and efficient business processes, while complying with Intact’s high audit standards.
You are passionate about technology and are perfectly at ease automating payroll processes that you fully trust.
As the ideal candidate, you have extensive experience in all aspects of payroll management. You demonstrate strong attributes in terms of your management style and have a proven track record in motivating teams and maintaining a high level of commitment and collaboration.

What you bring to the table :
You have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the payroll field, including experience in personnel management.
An understanding of the Workday system would be a definite asset, but your knowledge and ability to easily navigate different ERP systems will be equally appreciated.
You demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of accounting.
You are a Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) from the National Payroll Institute.
You hold a university degree in a Finance-related field.
You are fluent in both English and French, spoken and written.
You have experience in North American payroll and global mobility.
You have project management experience.
