Role Overview

The Technical Lead for application maintenance and support, is primarily responsible for the maintenance and support of internal applications built by the services teams and for ensuring high-quality development of bug fixes and enhancements to those applications.

You will be responsible for coordinating and delegating tasks with our team in Poland, as well as reviewing team code, solution design and architecture to ensure high quality of the solution provided.

This is a technical role that requires development best practices, good leadership skills and a holistic application management and support.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role are the following :

  • Leading a team of junior developers to support and maintain internally built applications
  • Troubleshooting and establishing the root causes of application errors
  • Monitoring application availability and performance
  • Developing in Java / Spring
  • Coordinating, splitting, and delegating development tasks and bugs
  • Reviewing code of internal team members
  • Prioritizing bugs and features
  • Technical reviews with developers to ensure common understanding of the solution
  • Providing technical expertise within the team
  • Coaching and mentoring junior team members based in Poland
  • Technical overview of the solution including its hosting on cloud hyperscalers
  • Ensuring high levels of motivation of the team
  • Strong focus on high-quality from the team throughout the development process
  • Internal stakeholder management and internal customer facing
  • Assisting in the interview process for developers
  • Ensuring excellent communication and collaboration between all internal teams
  • Qualifications

    Ideal candidates for this role will have the following :

  • Experience with application maintenance and support
  • Strong verbal and written English
  • 2+ years experience as a technical lead
  • 5+ years experience developing Java applications
  • Ability to take technical leadership responsibility
  • Strong experience of Java technologies
  • Strong experience of Spring and Springboot
  • Experience of Gradle and / or Maven
  • Experience of infrastructure and deployment processes (CI / CD, Jenkins and others)
  • Experience of cloud hyperscalers (AWS, GCP or Azure)
  • Experience and understanding of design patterns
  • Any of the following would be an advantage but not required :

  • Experience of web / mobile application development
  • Experience of Javascript frameworks such as ReactJS, VueJS or Angular
  • Experience of eCommerce projects
  • Experience of application maintenance
  • Experience in leading Agile projects
