The Counselling Coordinator is part of the Senior Staff team. They are the designated as the direct supervisor for all Counsellors and provide guidance and assistance in all areas of guest care and accommodation at camp.
They are also responsible for taking on operational responsibilities of the Camp Coordinator or Camp Supervisor when they are not present.
Counselling Coordinator will :
Provide ongoing evaluation, support and feedback to counsellors
Evaluate the quality of service that guests receive
Implement changes in services where and when necessary
Analyze guest needs and provide the correct level of support through staffing.
Assist Counsellors in guest care when needed
Intervene and help de-escalate situations as necessary
Communicate with other Camp departments to achieve a high level of support for guests
Ensure regular and open communication with guests, families and caregivers prior and during camp sessions
Ensure proper documentation of incidents is completed and follow up action is taken if needed
Adhere to and guide staff to follow all Policies and Procedures
Facilitate staff meetings for Counsellors.
In the absence of the Camp Coordinator and Camp Supervisor, they take on operational tasks of camp that need to be completed. (mainly administrative)
Assist with development and implementation of training week and continued training
Assist with implementation of recreational programing at camp Qualifications :
2+ years supervisor experience (can be part time or summer)
1+ years working at related employment working with individuals with special needs
Minimum 2 years of post-secondary education, or completion of a post-secondary certificate, degree or diploma in a developmental services, recreational or health-care related filed
First Aid / CPR certified
Training in CPI or other de-escalation techniques, an asset Character :

Flexible and adaptable Payroll Procedures : Hand in all completed timesheets from the previous work week on Monday by noon (signed by your supervisor).
Some clients will take care of your timesheets and will fax them to us on a weekly basis. Front Line Work Force Inc pays on a weekly basis every Friday either by cheque or direct deposit.
We take off all necessary deductions from your weekly pay which includes Income Tax, CPP, and EI. Your vacation pay of 4% is added onto every pay cheque.
We follow all guidelines set out by Employment Standards and the Ministry of Labor. Some employees may be required to work on a public holiday.
