The Data Insights, Analytics, & Continuous Improvement teams will lead this evolution through developing and implementing tools, capabilities, and an environment that enables a data-led performance-driven culture.

The Director, Data Insights, Analytics, & Continuous Improvement is a strategic leader who provides oversight and guidance of all data collection, management, analytic, and process improvement activities including recommendations and insights to improve the internal and external experience for stakeholders and supporters.

She / he works with World Vision Canada partners and stakeholders to ensure insights are shared, actioned, and aligned with enterprise Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).

Duties and responsibilities

Subject Matter Expert (Data Insights, Analytics, & Continuous Improvement)

  • Defines the strategy for the utilization of data and realization of value from analytics and insights
  • Ownership of research analytics, digital analytics, business intelligence, Voice of the Customer, advanced analytics, and Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement offering(s) / solution(s) for the organization.
  • Leverage data and analytics technology, along with a deep understanding of the organizational strategy to elevate analytics solutions and increase their value.
  • Provide leadership on qualitative and quantitative customer research and / or scenario analysis initiatives inclusive of test design, survey design, research measurement.
  • Gather insight and analysis through quantitative and qualitative research on donor and consumer trends to inform marketing and fundraising initiatives and drives the organization forward on innovative best practices.
  • Develop forecasting, scenario modeling, and other analytical tools that marketers and business leaders can use to assess investment potential, including the incorporation of offline data into analytics to gauge and predict the impact on business objectives and customer experience.
  • Develop and evolve a digital analytics strategy to measure the contribution and effectiveness of digital marketing activities against benchmarks and targets.
  • Key stakeholder in the data governance practice (inclusive of clear value of data, relevant policies and procedures, database technology systems, data architecture, software) with a focus on clear data value, data acquisition, integration, automation, and utilization.
  • Collaborate with partners to define and measure cross channel and organizational KPIs for the management of business effectiveness, ensuring a holistic view of organizational performance.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews to aid in the assessment of performance against plans and work with marketing leaders to identify opportunities to modify investments to enhance overall results (e.
  • g., campaign outcomes, event metrics, etc.).

  • Facilitate and guide managers to identify the best marketing investment opportunities based on data and analytics, that maximize revenue, ROI, and long-term supporter value.
  • Provide leadership on Process Engineering and Continuous Improvement initiatives to deliver efficiency, simplicity, and value to staff, supporters, and partners with benefits realized and quantified.

  • Renews the team / department with effective hiring to ensure full support to team goals.
  • Builds and nurtures cohesive and collaborative interactions across business units and other teams to support operational and strategic goals.
  • Competently manages the finances and administration of the department / teams.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications;
  • establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • Responsible for participating in action planning to address employee feedback from the staff engagement survey.
  • Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant Analytics, Engineering, Marketing, or Research leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Statistics, or similar discipline.
  • Deep understanding of marketing and business strategy and trends, and their implications on organization strategy and targets, in both a digital and non-digital environment.
  • Demonstrated a high level of personal ownership, collaborative teamwork, holistic value-centric perspective, work adaptability, and innovation.
  • Demonstrated history of curiosity, continuous learning, relentless improvement, openness to new ideas, healthy attitude to failures, and personal drive to grow.
  • Demonstrated collaboration, organizational, interpersonal, communication, conflict management, problem-solving, change management, attention to detail, decision making, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the adoption of new tools and ideas of both internal and external partners.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of international development or non-profit an asset.
