The Manager, Pricing Strategy and Product is responsible for developing and executing innovation and strategic pricing initiatives related to pricing products and tools.
This position will execute multiple business plans and projects, communicate business plans, develop and evaluate scorecards and leverage new processes globally across the enterprise.
The primary responsibility of the Manager, Pricing Strategy and Product is to ensure the delivery and positive results of Price Leadership strategic initiatives related to pricing products and tools.
What you'll do...
Envision the product roadmap for Regular Pricing including the analytical framework that will be used to measure the effectiveness of corporate and pricing strategies.
Implement the framework and embed the tools in the Merchants regular schedule.
Manage the Regular Pricing tools / reports that are used to plan and execute price changes for Walmart Canada (store and online).
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to successfully roll out new features and support Merchandising as the SME on Regular pricing process and workflow.
Leads end-to-end implementation of pricing tools to achieve pricing strategy by identifying and defining transformational change and processes, validating value and priority, creating project plans to implement processes, and assessing people’s readiness for change.
Leads and governs agile product implementation MVP approach (minimum viable product), collaborating with cross-functional teams including but not limited to Merchandising, Finance, Operations, Change Management, and drives change management.
Interact with global markets in Pricing Leverage Networks and lead continuous enhancements of pricing analytics and processes.
Manage and influence work from a team of internal and third-party analysts, data scientists and developers, including International Technology and Canada Technology.
This work includes the creation of algorithms and tools, as well as problem solving through data mining and analytics.
Manages accountability to achieve goals within a cross-functional area by developing strong relationships with stakeholders, influencing strategy direction and deliverables, and recommending technical and conceptual ideas to establish understanding and acceptance.
Build expert knowledge in cross-functional businesses that will support the implementation of the projects. Map current process, identify gaps and propose process improvements.
Understand existing workflow systems, propose simplification, and bring efficiency
Hire talent to build high-performance team and Manage relationships with 3rd party data providers and their budgets, including the negotiation of deliverables, day-to-day service agreements, and the management of issues and additional ad hoc needs.
Bachelor's Degree required MBA preferred
6 to 8 years of experience in a similar role
Experience in building financial, statistical, scenario, and machine learning models
Pricing and promotion knowledge in retail
Strategy development and implementation experience (process mapping, methodology building, stakeholder presentations, etc.)
Experience programming in SQL
Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel
Experience with Tableau, Access, Omniture, Marketing / Web Analytics, etc.
