The Director of Project Management, Access Networks Project Management Office leads a team of professional program and project managers that ensures that all projects are executed within time, scope and cost commitments.

Reporting to the VP of Access Networks PMO, at the Rogers Park Brampton Campus, the Director of Project Management is accountable to ensure that all program and project managers lead the execution of the scope of work delivering on time and on budget to the highest quality standards.

The Director is also accountable to build, empower and motivate a world class project management culture where project managers lead the business.

This role requires extensive collaboration across a matrixed organization, including national access engineering and operations team and regional implementation teams.

As a result, the Director must be able to influence decisions like the assignment of critical resources and persuade others to adjust timelines to ensure project requirements are completed on time and within budget.

The outcome of successful influence and persuasion, in the face of competing business priorities, will be faster, more reliable networks provided more quickly to our customers.

We’re looking for a self-starting innovative leader who isn’t afraid to challenge BAU thinking, loves developing and motivating highly engaged teams to drive results.

Has a keen interest and strength in understanding the customer experience, and has experience in working with and being a key partner in our Technology team.

What you’ll be doing : Governance and control of projects delivering 1 Billion dollars + in annual capex spendDevelopment of project management within Access networksOwner of key business processes within access networks for project managementCommunications and executive stakeholder managementManagement of inter-regional and inter-program prioritiesRisk management and mitigation strategiesFormal program acceptanceManagement of data archiving related to Access Networks projectsParticipating in Access Network leadership processes and communications.

Driving alignment and collaboration with key interlock partners, including within the Network organization and with other business unitsDelivering financial performance, including specific OPEX and CAPEX targets and controlling unit costs across the project portfolioInspiring and enabling talent within the overall team and promoting employee engagement across the organization.

What you have : 10+ years of working in the telecommunications industry, with both wireless & wireline network experience10+ years of working in a senior management position, preferably leading within a large organizationExtensive experience with successfully driving completion of large, multi-stakeholder, complex implementation projectsCustomer-driven, with experience leading teams through complex projectsExcellent presentation & communications skills, with experience presenting at the senior executive level, to customers, and to government agenciesDemonstrated business & financial acumenExperience leading and improving an innovative, customer-focused, enthusiastic and business-oriented teamStrong business acumen with a customer focusDeep industry knowledgePeople manager with experience leading, managing and motivating teamsUniversity degree with 15+ years of experienceLeadership AttributesConsistently motivating a team to meet deadlines with accurate and detailed resultsGreat influencer and strategic advisorExcellent judgment in handling emergency escalated issuesStrong leader who knows how to build / get the most out of their team and inspire / encourage others to reach goals through innovation quality and excellenceConfident in engaging others and challenging and defending a positionStrong history of collaborationSchedule : Full timeShift : DayLength of Contract : Not Applicable (Regular Position)Work Location : 8200 Dixie Road (101), Brampton, ONTravel Requirements : Up to 10%Posting Category / Function : Project Management & Information TechnologyRequisition ID : 181426Together, we'll make more possible, and these six shared values guide and define our work : Our people are at the heart of our successOur customers come first.
