Purpose of the Position
Ensure the proper system interface management for all rail system interfaces, including with third parties, through the effective management of the project requirements and engineering activities.
Manage the task needed to interface successfully all rail sub-systems in compliance with schedule and budget for medium and / or high complex projects. Key Responsibilities
Implement and enforce the Aecon’s Health and Safety program;
The candidate will have broad engineering skills and must have experience with the design and construction of rail infrastructure systems, integrating communications, train control and electrical systems;
The candidate will be responsible for interface management and requirements fulfillment and will provide direction to project engineering teams in order to achieve the specified technical requirements and schedules;
The candidate will develop and maintain the systems interface management plans, the system interface matrix, and lead the preparation of the Interface Control Documents;
The candidate will be responsible for the coordination of all technical interfaces, the review technical documentation of each sub-systems involved in the dedicated interfaces and the participate to Change Control Process of sub-systems engineering activities;
The candidate will ensure performances and safety of dedicated sub-systems;
The candidate will ensure perfect integration among dedicated sub-systems;
The candidate will ensure compliancy of contractual requirements at all stages (design, integration, validation);
The candidate will be responsible for interfacing with the other disciplines to insure proper coordination of the systems aspects of the project;
The candidate must be able to evaluate design changes for impacts to interfaces;
The candidate will interface with the Rail Systems Integration Manager to determine schedules, monitor design progress, support systems integration, and coordinate the testing and commissioning activities.
Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations;
Carry out all engineering administration following company policies and procedures. Required Knowledge & Skills
Two to three years’ systems engineering and integration experience on large transit projects;
Track record of interface management, systems integration, system acceptance and rail safety certification;
Understanding of construction means and methods;
Familiarity with rail transit industry standards, practices, and regulations is required;
Previous experience using Primavera P6 scheduling software on transit projects;
Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematic diagrams;
Two to three years’ experience in design management of rail transit systems such as traction power substations, signals / train control, and communications is preferred;
Self-motivated and able to self-direct;
Potential to perform in a lead capacity and manage engineering staff;
Ability to work in a cooperative team environment;
Excellent Computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.);
Excellent team, interpersonal and communications skills, both written and oral;
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with the client, field personnel and subcontractors;
Strong awareness and understanding of construction safety principles.

$160,000 to $220,000 annually
