We are hiring a Product Manager for the Vortex Port Equipment Training Simulator product line.
This unique opportunity will provide a strong career platform to the successful candidate where she / he will own the vision and direction of a complex product serving a customer base of terminal operators and heavy-equipment manufacturers throughout the world.
The Product Manager is the critical pivot point within the company who ensures that commercial objectives are met through the delivery of industry-leading products.
Physics-based simulation, 3D visualization, robotics and automation, and cloud-based platform software are key technologies that drive our current success in the Port market and underpin our vision for the future.
Capture the needs of our current customers and the broader market opportunity in the Port vertical by analyzing market data and by working closely with Sales and Marketing.
Perform market studies and establish business cases to set the product line direction in support of CM Labs’ revenue and profitability targets.
Own all aspects of the product life cycle from ideation to sun-setting. Work closely with Engineering to establish the product line’s roadmap, including negotiating the product development schedule to find the optimal balance between business priorities and available resources.
Plan for technology trends affecting the products in their competitive landscape.
Work directly with CM Labs’ clients to ensure early product adoption, to establish effective feedback, and to provide thought leadership in the domain.
Partner with Marketing to ensure that appropriate marketing strategies are established to support the product’s commercial objectives.
This position is part of a cross-functional team consisting of the Product Manager, the Product Marketing Manager and the Product Development Manager accountable for the product line’s overall success.
10 years of experience in engineering related roles with recent success as a product manager.
Strong ability to process large amounts of disparate information and data to extract insightful trends.
Strong communication skills and ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences from executives to specialized engineers.
Experience in building and presenting business cases.
Possesses a passion for technology products and their success in targeted markets.
Experience with mechatronic systems, platform software, and visual simulation technology is desired.
Training in the methodologies of Pragmatic Marketing would be an asset.
Holder of a university degree in Engineering or computer science is ideal.
Ability to travel internationally approximately 10 to 20% of the time in a typical year.
