Position Overview :

Working with the Director and Senior Underwriter in the Specialty National Programs Team within the Global Specialty Lines division in Canada, situated in downtown Toronto, you will devote your technical skills, business savvy and track record of success to underwriting, marketing and promoting our National Programs product offerings.

What you will achieve in this role

  • Underwriting of Programs mainly, P&C driven.
  • Maintain strong broker and client relationships
  • Communicate RSA’s Corporate Value Proposition to brokers
  • Monitordelegated underwriting authorities issued to brokers to ensure compliance
  • Deliver exceptional service to brokers and clients including management of specialized account service plans
  • Adhere to the administrative, underwriting guidelines and processes of the Specialty National Programs team within GSL
  • What you bring to this role

  • 3-5 years of managed accounts or programs (P&C) underwriting experience
  • Good knowledge and understanding of property and casualty policy forms and wordings, ability to work with manuscript forms and negotiate legal and underwriting requirements with brokers
  • Facultative placement experience and understanding of net / gross line strategies
  • Underwriting Audit of delegated authorities for programs with brokers
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & non verbal)
  • Strong team player both within direct team and with critical stakeholders
  • University degree or equivalent
  • CIP, FCIP and or CRM designation
  • French or other languages are an asset
  • Broker and / or Risk Management experience are an asset
