The Writer is accountable to write, edit and review all site copy for BMO Wealth Management Digital Properties (e.g., adviceDirect, Self-

Directed, Gateway, Private Bank) on web, mobile, and tablet to ensure that information is accurate, relevant and timely. Content can include, but not limited to demos and surveys, help screens, instructional information, tutorial scripts, ad badges, frequently asked questions, and emails.

Clear, effective communications are critical to the client experience delivered by BMO and this role is accountable to take a proactive approach in making recommendations and enhancements to improve communications.


Write, edit and / or review all site copy for BMO Wealth Management digital properties (demos, surveys, help screens, instructional information, error messages, tutorial scripts, ad badges, FAQs, emails, labels) to ensure that information is accurate, relevant and timely and that the appropriate brand voice is used and that all output meet the communications brief.

Write, edit and / or review unique copy depending on the medium (web, mobile, tablet) to enhance client experience.

Assess the quality of the web priorities from a communication perspective and make recommendations to content manager to enhance the client experience with more effective communications.

Assess competitive sites and information to remain on top of communication trends in the industry and make recommendations to improve BMO content.

Participate in user acceptance testing activities to validate site content in English and French according to defined timelines and protocols.

Write online usability tests and client surveys to assist in the evaluation of future website enhancements and assist in communication of survey results.

Develop message content, implement targeting to various web channels including message centre, message boards, pop-ups.

Monitor and maintain corporate communication standards to ensure a consistency in tone and manner in all client communications.

Manage crisis communications by writing and co-ordinating translations and approvals for urgent and new messages as required while maintaining a historical tracker.

Develop and implement day-to-day content changes and updates to BMO Digital Properties.

Develop content to support marketing programs and campaigns for acquisition, retention and growth

Manage the approval process for all aspects of the digital content changes including reviews by LOB, Legal, Compliance and Translation

Knowledge :

University degree in English, Communications or other relevant education

Minimum of 2 years Financial Services industry or communications experience with an understanding of investing and online writing

Experience executing a successful online customer experience from a content perspective

Working knowledge of Brokerage business, organization and interrelationships with other areas of the Company

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with expertise in Excel and Word

Working knowledge of HTML (preferred)

Expert communication skills (written and verbal)

Ability to work independently, with a disciplined and organized approach

Ability to bring complex communication materials to life through effective collaboration and facilitation

Proven ability to translate client experience work within layout, design and visual communication while providing recommendations and enhancements to the communications tactics

Working knowledge and proven applications of marketing principles

In-depth analytical and problem solving skills

Working time management skills and organization skills

Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing priorities and technology
