The is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for a junior-intermediate supervisory role.

This is a mid-morning shift from Monday-Friday; 11 : 00am-7 : 30pm. A flexible work schedule can be discussed that accommodates employee and work requirements.

This is a support function to the Route Supervisor, there are no direct reports.

What will you do?

  • Support the collections group to ensure vehicles are ready to operate each day while ensuring all regulatory requirements are followed;
  • Ensure daily, weekly, monthly maintenance and preventative maintenance goals are met to minimize larger maintenance issues;
  • Collaborate with the Route Supervisor to schedule trucks in for maintenance;
  • Oversee maintenance contracts held with third party maintenance shops;
  • Support the relationship with maintenance shops to ensure they provide Emterra with premium and timely service;
  • Assist with trouble shooting and solving of mechanical problems with company drivers;
  • Track downtime for all equipment;
  • Conduct analysis on fleets to identify abnormal maintenance issues and address the issues with drivers, shops and vendors;
  • Hands-on day to day active management and a strong presence in the yard ensuring drivers are conducting pre / post trip inspections properly;
  • Train new drivers on proper maintenance and driving techniques to minimize wear to the vehicles;
  • Ensure a sufficient inventory of lubricants and parts to meet daily needs of Emterra’s truck fleet;
  • Review and approval of work orders in a timely, daily manner focusing on accuracy and quality;
  • Manage within budget constraints to ensure the long-term viability of the operation;
  • Maximize operational efficiency by leveraging data and reports developed from Emterra’s fleet maintenance system (i.e. RTA);
  • Manage and review all warranty claims;
  • Ensure all invoices are reviewed for accuracy and processed for manager signoff and timely payment;
  • Manage equipment maintenance files to ensure MTO compliance;
  • Utilize GPS system;
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
  • What will you bring?

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a truck fleet management role;
  • Class 3 licence is considered an asset to assist moving trucks to shop but not mandatory;
  • Knowledge of heavy duty equipment / hydraulic systems;
  • Mechanically inclined;
  • Computer skills with proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook);
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment;
  • Effective communication skills (both written & verbal);
  • Willingness to work the required hours to complete job tasks;
  • Accountable, dependable and strong integrity.
