  • The Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting & Analysis ensures the accuracy and completeness of reported financial position and results, as well as acts as partner within the organization on financial reporting policies and the application thereof.

    Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following :

  • Oversee the financial reporting process, which includes monthly submission of financials to parent company and preparing detailed commentary to explain financial results
  • Responsible for the preparation of balance sheet and cash flow within the annual budgeting and forecasting process
  • Prepare and / or review external financial statements in accordance with IFRS, including pension plan financial statements
  • Act as liaison for external audit process and income tax authorities.
  • Prepare reporting for income tax purposes
  • Review systems and controls to ensure company is in compliance with the applicable income tax authorities. Review the results of all tax audits and ensure corrective
  • Monitor for changes in financial reporting standards, alert management and quantify potential impact. Ensure all changes are implemented & communicated as required.
  • Ensure that information reported to statutory authorities is accurately completed within required timelines
  • Prepare supplementary reports to assist management in evaluating financial performance
  • Perform financial analysis to assist in the evaluation of potential business opportunities and proposed strategic initiatives
  • Ownership of the creation of predictive / forecasting models for departments based on historical data and potential changes to key drivers
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for financial information
  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies and requirements
  • The ideal candidate :

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field (business, accounting, commerce)
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of post-university work experience
  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of IFRS
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity and change in a dynamic environment
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Highly service-oriented with exceptional organization and follow up skills
  • Proficient in the use of SAP and Cognos
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Passionate about fashion and luxury retailing
