As an AIS II, you will be responsible for end-to-end solution delivery and maintenance of IT application and services, by utilizing your depth of experience in designated technologies including deep knowledge within an application layer, and awareness of integrations with adjoining technologies or applications.

You will be the lead on small system design or enhancements to large and complex systems and perform system analysis.

Some key responsibilities will be to :

Perform complex end-to-end solution delivery and maintenance for small systems design, or enhancements to large systems, and provides conceptual and functional design and project planning definition

Actively maintain recognized expert level knowledge in multiple identifiable specialisms

Provide definitive and expert advice in their specialist area(s)

Oversee the provision of specialist advice by others, consolidates expertise from multiple sources, including third-party experts, to provide coherent advice to further organizational objectives

Provide technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures

Uses infrastructure management tools to determine load and performance statistics

Contribute to the planning and implementation of maintenance and installation work, including building and configuration of infrastructure components in virtualized environments

Design complex solutions by applying approved methods of problem and systems definition, requirements and data specification analysis

Review capacity, performance, availability and other operational metrics and take appropriate action to ensure corrective and proactive maintenance of storage and backup systems to support the requirement to protect and secure business information

Maintain application support processes, and checks that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures and uses Application Management Software and tools to investigate issues, collect performance statistics and create reports

Respond to equipment malfunctions, unusual or other situations that impact system performance, performs diagnostics and other problem-

solving activities and implements remedial procedures as required

Accept responsibility for the creation of test cases using own in-depth technical analysis of both functional and non-functional specifications (such as reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability, and portability

Review system software updates and identify those that merit action. Tailors system software to maximize hardware functionality

Install and test new versions of system software

Investigate and coordinate the resolution of potential and actual service problems

Make recommendations on new technology and contributes to proposals and implementation plans based on the analysis

Apply tools, techniques, and processes to track, log and correct information related to configuration items

Perform other related duties as required


A degree in computing science or related discipline including four (4) years of relevant experience, OR a post-secondary diploma in a related discipline with five (5) years of relevant experience, OR a 1-

year related certificate and seven (7) years of relevant experience

NetApp Clustered Ontap System Administration training is required and certification is desirable

Commvault backup / recovery certification & training is considered an asset

Oracle Solaris UNIX System Administration certification & training is considered an asset

CA Autosys administration & configuration is considered an asset

Linux RedHat & Ubuntu System Administration certification & training is considered an asset

Advanced working knowledge of NetApp Clustered Ontap storage platform

Advanced working knowledge of Commvault or equivalent backup / recovery software

Advanced working knowledge of Oracle Sparc-based UNIX platforms

Advanced understanding and capability of applying patches, updates, and upgrades, and impacts on integrated with the systems

Working knowledge of CA Autosys (administration & configuration)

Working knowledge of CISCO fiber channel SAN fabric (administration & configuration)

Working knowledge of Linux RedHat and Ubuntu (administration & configuration)

Working knowledge of VMWare platform

Knowledge of CISCO UCS platform

Knowledge of ITIL processes

The ability to use Remedy for work order creation and resolution

Ability to participate in a 24 / 7 on-call support

Proficient with the use of Google G Suite productivity tools
