The Project Coordinator reports to the Director, Engineering but functionally reports to the Project Manager for direction of work and performance management.

The purpose of this job is to support the work being performed on site in the maintenance yard to support the GoldLeaf 3.

0 rail cars. This includes ensuring outstanding tasks and work orders are being completed on night shifts to finish and accept cars from Stadler and to support the team doing corrective repairs on early-

life failures of cars in service. This includes both warranty and non-warranty support.

This position may require trouble shooting and rational problem solving to isolate and eliminate defects on cars in service, in conjunction with the maintenance teams.

This position is a 1 year, fixed term contract based in Kamloops, BC.

Key Accountabilities...

  • Overseeing the tasks of team members and contractors to ensure work being completed on site is based on established priorities (priorities identified with Project Manager) and escalate key issues to Project Manager when required
  • Ensure work completed is to company’s standards and close out work orders in the system to ensure accurate record of work orders, including communication with maintenance management on work order statuses
  • Work with the Rail Operations team to transfer knowledge and lessons learned from the operating season (April October) during the maintenance season (November March)
  • Monitor warranty and defect-closing work performed during maintenance season
  • Draft internal communication for GoldLeaf 3.0 specific notices and update standard operating procedures to incorporate learnings from operating season
  • While providing engineering presence and support to the maintenance team nightshift, collect feedback and document information and facts.

  • Diploma in an operational or technical field (a combination of education and experience will be considered)
  • Education in Engineering program and / or Project Management training is considered an asset
  • 3 5 years in an operational environment
  • Experience in a leadership position considered an asset
  • Demonstrate safe behavior in a safety sensitive environment
  • Ability to work independently without management oversight
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and think rationally under pressure
  • Highly skilled interpersonal skills and ability to resolve conflict situations
  • Average computer skills and aptitude
