We are looking for a Director, PMO to establish, direct and oversee the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure IT programs and projects meet Business Unit goals and requirements.

Reporting into the VP of IT, you will develop and implement PMO processes and policies, direct a project management team, and work cross-functionally with other Business Unit leaders to define, prioritize, and develop IT projects and programs.

This role is based in Vancouver, B.C.

What you will do : STRATEGIC PLANNING :

STRATEGIC PLANNING :

  • Identify, scope and drive critical projects and partnering with cross-functional teams across the organization that directly contribute to our corporate growth initiatives
  • Create a project management office for the IT organization that brings the most important projects to realization
  • Implement a project management methodology and review board where each business unit defends their project and identifies the highest value add projects
  • Implement a cost based resourcing plan with all departments
  • Support teams on medium / long-term planning
  • Partner with the technical teams to build and execute systems-enabled capability roadmaps to support corporate strategy and goals endorsed by stakeholders
  • Identify the long-term business capabilities and develop a roadmap of initiatives
  • Become a trusted partner and advisor for business leaders;
  • OPERATIONS & ANALYTICS :

  • Oversee a team of Project Managers to deliver improvements to team processes to drive higher efficiencies using a data-driven approach
  • Identify and implement criteria based management selection process to streamline project management
  • Identify and implement a value realization process that ensures projects are meeting targets and delivering to project criteria
  • Help drive operational excellence by identifying opportunities for operational improvement
  • Ensure strategic and operational alignment between all critical business systems and their user communities
  • Manages the financial aspects of all intiatives costs, KPIs, value realization etc.
  • Leads, develops and grows the team
  • Ensure all program communications and status reporting to stakeholders and senior leadership is conducted on a regular basis
  • Create a project vetting and gating process to ensure project prioritization
  • Support the project pipeline by managing resource availability, capacity and skill sets and project costs
  • Manage and grow a nascent scaled support team that will support the business for scale
  • Lead team that defines, documents, and standardizes business processes within new systems deployments and operational changes
  • MANAGEMENT :

  • Build and manage a high performing team
  • Partner with management on key business and operational activities
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the company and represent the function in cross-functional teams
  • What you will bring :

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 15+ years business experience including leading system-enabled transformation across operations functions (including planning, logistics, customer support) in physical products companies
  • Cross-functional partnership, experience navigating across teams with objectives to translate business strategies, initiatives, goals, and objectives into project proposals
  • Strong leadership and relationship building skills to lead teams in distributed environments involved in delivering complex business systems
  • Ability to prioritize with business leads and defend prioritization
  • Strong communication skills and rich business acumen to ensure stakeholder management.
