Parts Manager

Mississauga Harley-Davidson is looking for an experienced, highly motivated professional to continue to foster the growth and great potential of our Service and Parts department, in the role of Parts Manager.

In this fixed operations management role, the individual must exhibit strong leadership skills with a great desire to satisfy both customers and staff.

Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining and growing the profitability, implementation and adherence to all processes and procedures and tracking performance of the departments and the employees.

Days and Hours :

Monday to Friday 9 : 30am - 5 : 30pm, Saturday 9am-4pm Seasonal.

Successful candidates will possess :

  • Strong Leadership and Management skills;
  • Extensive Harley-Davidson Technical Knowledge;
  • Extensive Harley Davidson Warranty Administration experience;
  • Harley-Davidson Inventory control experience;
  • Exceptional Customer service skills;
  • Dealership software experience
  • Responsibilities / Duties :

  • Supervise, direct and lead all aspects of the Service, Parts Departments and Operations departments.
  • Implement all systems, scheduling and procedures in the Service and Parts Departments
  • Maintain a high customer satisfaction percentage rating at all times
  • Monitor and maintain all A / P and A / R relating to the Service and Parts Departments
  • Monitor and maintain all manufacturer warranty programs for high profit and claim accuracy
  • Plan departmental objectives, jointly with the General Manager, and attain them
  • Prepare and manage the annual operating budgets of the Service and Parts Departments
  • Develop and implement a marketing plan to solicit new customers and maximize retention of existing customers
  • Keep abreast of federal and provincial regulations and municipal bylaws governing maintenance work, such as those concerning the removal of hazardous waste, etc.
  • understands and observes them

  • Examine the rules applying to warranty policy, understand and implement guidelines with regard to warranties, see that claims are appropriately processed and forward details and clarifications on the warranties to customers
  • Advise the Technicians responsible for repairs of the time allocated for each work order
  • Maintain a top quality repair service and reduce returns to the shop; intermittently check work performed, to ensure that it meets strict quality standards
  • Keep up-to-date on new equipment and tools, and makes purchasing recommendations
  • Prepare lists of labour costs for the more routine maintenance jobs
  • Maintain inventory control including purchasing, selling, and stocking, pricing and counting parts
  • Manage the purchase of parts from sources other than the manufacturer
  • Establish parameters for price setting which generate sufficient gross profit to produce satisfactory profits for each category of customer
  • Reconcile the inventory and sends a copy to accounting at the end of the month
  • Recruit, train and discipline of Service and Parts Department staff members
  • Conduct performance reviews / evaluations of all Service and Parts Departments staff
  • Maintain a current training schedule for Technicians, Apprentice Technicians and Service Advisors
  • Track and post daily Service Advisor performance as required
  • Track and post daily Technician performance as required
  • Ensure that all required licensing and regulatory requirements are followed
  • Qualifications / Education :

  • 3 to 5 years Harley-Davidson Management (Required)
  • H-D Expert Certification Technical (preferred)
  • H-D Master Certification Service Sales (preferred) H-D Master Certification Parts & Accessories Sales (preferred)
  • H-D Master Certification Motorcycle Sales (preferred)
  • Valid M Driver's License
  • Valid G Driver's License, clean driving record
  • Compensation :

    $50, base salary + bonus tied to profit metrics.
