Catholic Social Services (CSS) is currently recruiting for one (1), full time, forty (40) hours per week Business Analyst to join our talented team!

With more than 50 years of service delivery, Catholic Social Services is one of the largest multi-function social services agencies in Canada, with more than 1800 staff, and hundreds of volunteers delivering 130+ programs throughout Edmonton and Central Alberta.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Digital Transformation and Projects, the Business Analyst supports the Digital Services and Innovation area by working on various information technology projects.
The incumbent will partner with the services areas to identify business requirements for Human Resources (HR), Finance, and Case / Client Managements projects and research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements.
This role also makes recommendations, documenting solutions, and allocating requirements to achieve the desired future state, preparing use case for system configuration, developing test plans and assisting with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes.
Job duties include, but are not limited to :
Facilitate and manage business requirements elicitation, analysis, validation and documentation throughout opportunity assessment or concept phase and all subsequent project phases.
Working collaboratively with subject matter experts in the analysis of business requirements and provide information, support, and recommendations for implementing new programs, processes, systems or for improvements to current system functionality as they relate to our technology systems.
Project manage, lead, or participate as part of the team to implement new programs, processes or technology solutions, system upgrades, and new features as part of service pack releases
Define, document and present the desired future state vision and processes
Translate business needs, business processes and requirements to enable technical resources to develop or configure the solution to meet business needs
Develop impact analysis and implement strategies to manage change for large new system implementations or small functionality changes
Standardize process and procedures with a continuous improvement mindset to effectively and efficiently maximize the use of technology systems and improve the user experience
Information Strategy : Assisting in the development of performance measurement frameworks; evaluating available technology improvements that would allow for more streamlined data collection while supporting the team lead to design business cases accordingly;
identifying and implementing industry trends and best practices;
Document business processes, procedures and methodologies used in creating new processes, programs or implementing technology, analysis and reporting;
identifying areas for improvement and risks to data quality and efficiency, and recommending potential solutions; communicating with colleagues to ensure consistent practice
Provide end user support to the organization on technology, and troubleshoot, resolve, and manage service requests
Develop, deliver, and facilitate system, process or program training for new system users
Continually update and learn new technology best practices and functionality via research, events, and networking with industry subject matter experts

Very strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Detail oriented and organized, with good judgment and resource management skills
Computer proficiency and experience using HCM, CRM, HRIS, or other equivalent systems
Proficiency in using Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) with adaptability to learn new applications
Strong problem solving skills with the ability to analyze a situation, consider all options, and anticipate outcomes before providing recommendations
High degree of integrity and professionalism by being reliable, courteous, responsive and punctual
Education and Experience :
Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance Management, Human Resources, Social Sciences or an acceptable related field
4 years diversified and progressive experience in I Information Technology environment, implementing Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Human Capital Management (HCM) systems, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Systems or other technology solutions
Demonstrated business analyst and project management experience leading cross functional teams
Demonstrated experience analyzing business processes, process improvement and managing data with the ability to map them into technology solutions
Demonstrated experience in implementing large change initiatives and knowledge of change management and communication practices
Business Analyst certification is considered an asset
Project Management certification is considered an asset
Change Management certification is considered an asset
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
The starting rate for this position is $38.31.
