The Manager, Finance Production Support will manage a team of specialists to provide first and second line end-user support related to the technical platform for enterprise Finance so to ensure the financial systems close accurately and on-
time.The role is accountable to collaborate with others internally and externally (e.g. Finance end-users, departments in the Chief Accountant’s Group and Technology & Operations) to resolve issues that cut across functional lines and provide solutions ensuring effective service delivery during maintenance periods and the financial production cycle.
This includes identifying requirements to meet changing internal and external conditions and contributions to change management and innovation through identification of new systems and process improvements to existing technology and processes and participation in new cross finance system / process-
related projects as an advisor
Managerial Leadership :

Structure and organize the team to maximize performance and output to achieve the required business results. way discussions, creating and executing training and development plans, developing succession plans and providing stretch opportunities to further develop competencies.
Assess direct report performance according to BMO’s principles, including establishing goals and objectives, assessing skill and knowledge gaps, ensuring that employees have the tools and resources required to perform, assessing personal effectiveness, and recommending base and variable pay.
End-User Support :
Manages and supports a team of support specialists that provide first-line support and address issues arising from escalations and complex issues related to the production systems and applications to ensure business delivery and effectiveness.
Establish effective relationships with Finance end-users, other parts of the Chief Accountant’s Group and Technology & Operations to implement change management and process improvement initiatives and facilitate communication between them.
Assesses problem situations and escalates as appropriate to Senior Manager, Finance Production Support to ensure issues are receiving appropriate management attention.
Systems Access :
Oversees a system access provisioning approval process that ensures access to enterprise financial systems is compliant with Information Security Guidelines and that appropriate access controls and implemented according to Bank policies.
Approves and confirms Total Bank level access to enterprise financial systems and databases for users enterprise-wide to ensure the access is for approved users only and removes access for CAG employees who leave Finance / the Bank or who no longer require access.
Creates and maintains lists of enterprise financial systems and database users for security and governance purposes.
System Reconciliations :
Ensures reconciliation of data between core finance systems and investigate significant differences in order to maintain the integrity and reliability of information used in financial production processes.
Works with other parts of Chief Accountant’s Group organization to assess system reconciliation procedures and revise as required to ensure accurate and on-
time reconciliations between core finance systems.
Production Support :
Provides production support, troubleshooting and escalation as necessary for system-related issues to ensure production systems are available to end users in order to ensure financial systems are operating with accuracy and adhere to the production schedule.
Liaises with Technology & Operations to during investigations and escalations to identify root causes of production issues and participate in the development and implementation of corrective action plans
Change & Innovation
Improve operational methods and workflows by identifying, recommending and implementing process improvements.
Identifies recurring issues and initiates system or process improvements, as applicable
7-10 years of experience in information management or related field
Accounting designation (CA,CMA,CGA) is preferred
Practical financial application data analysis experience
Knowledge of the Bank’s financial applications and systems from a business perspective.
Basic awareness of risk and regulatory issues and their impact on business group
Strong understanding of mainframe applications, reporting tools (SAP, ESSBASE, WEBFOCUS, PEOPLESOFT)
Strong PC skills (WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT, ACCESS)
Expert ability to apply analytical and practical expertise when problem-solving
Strong ability to verbally communicate or write simple to complex technical communications with clarity
Strong listening skills
