Our Canadian Actuarial, Rewards and Analytics (ARA) team is part of Deloitte’s worldwide actuarial network, which includes over 1000 actuarial professionals working in 43 countries.

ARA is part of Deloitte’s Assurance & Advisory practice and provides a wide range of services. We are searching for dynamic individuals to join our P&C Advisory team.

What will your typical day look like?

As an Analyst, you will be responsible for :

  • Supporting the team and your leaders to deliver consulting projects within the broader insurance space
  • Assisting in developing market offerings by contributing with innovative approaches to existing firm initiatives
  • Supporting audit engagements i.e. reserve valuation work during our audit peak season
  • Build technical capabilities within IFRS 17, MCT, DCAT, ORSA, etc. as well as in fields such Analytics and Machine Learning (ML)

    Skills and Qualifications :

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in the fields of Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or Data Science from a recognized university
  • Completed core undergraduate curriculum of Statistics and Probabilities with familiarity with the development of Generalized Linear Models
  • Completed exam 1, 2 and 3F of the Casualty Actuarial Society
  • Proficient knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
  • Programming skills (Visual Basic, R, Python, etc.) and visualization tools like Tableau an asset. Familiarity with SAS.
  • Relevant working experience (i.e. co-ops or internships) within an insurance company, reinsurer, insurance broker or accounting / consulting firm, ideally within P&C a plus.
  • Ability to work within a team structure and deliver high-quality work under time constraints
