Job titleFamily Services SpecialistReports toSenior Manager, Family ServicesDepartmentFamily Services Job Purpose : The Family Services team at Habitat-GTA is a critical department that contributes towards the organization’s efforts to build homes for working, lower ie families so that they possess a foundation for better, healthier lives.

  • The team’s functions include : * Marketing and outreach to identify potential Habitat partner families* Applicant family review, approval and assignment of homes* Family support during the pre-ownership phase* Ownership support and mortgage management* Post occupancy homeowner supportReporting to the Senior Manager of Family Support, the Specialist will : Duties and Responsibilities : Participate in the Partner Family Support Program that includes : * Developing and offering training for families to prepare for homeownership* Monitoring successfulpletion of Sweat Equity hours and following up as necessary* Ensuring the homeowner education program is adequately resourced with volunteers that are equipped with appropriate supports and resources toplete their roles effectively* Drafting family profiles and engaging families in enhancing public awareness of Habitat’s mission* Reviewing, revising and developing all policies and procedures associated with family support for approval by the Director, Family Services* Coordinating long-term engagement efforts with partner families residing in their homes, most notably the Impact Study* Utilizing departmental systems to capture important data on Habitat-GTA families* Participating in annual business planning and subsequent review of key milestones* Participating in various departmental projects identified through strategic and business planning processes, as applicable* Draftingmunications to partner families and act as key point of contact for conflicts that arise;
  • Acting as one of the important contacts for families from the point of the signing of the Agreement of Purchase and Sale throughout their relationship with Habitat (i.
  • e., this role fulfills the very important function of customer / partner family support)* Coordinate andmunicate any Warranty and construction matters with the Construction team as they ariseQualifications : * University or college degree in a related field or equivalent experience* Understanding of contracts and obligations* Understanding of Tarion Warranty matters* Superior relationship management and customer service skills*petency in conflict resolution* Program development and evaluation experience*fort facilitating workshops for large groups* Proficiency in MS Office, Salesforce* Experience in non-profit organizations, event planning, and marketing considered an asset* Class G driver’s license* Note : Role will require travel, and public presentation.

    Due tomunity engagement and interaction with volunteermittees, some off-hour work will be required throughout the year
