Quorum requires a Human Resources Assistant (Full-time Temp) to join our Corporate Department in St. John’s, NL. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager in our St.
John’s office, this position will assist in supporting all administrative Human Resources needs for the Company. The ideal candidate will be passionate, energetic and must have 2+ years’ experience in the Human Resources field.
Responsibilities include assisting with the following items :
Hiring needs for all departments and offices
Screening of daily HR inquiries via HR inbox, social media, employee requests, etc)
Recruitment and selection process which includes : maintaining the HR career page / social media sites, job postings, prescreening applicants,
interviews and reference checks , job fairs and other duties as required
New hire orientation process
Administration of group benefits programs, as well as our EAP program for both Canada and the US
Updating and maintaining employee files
Updating Employee Vacation tracker and timecards
Annual performance review process
Full cycle payroll using Ceridian software for both Canadian and US employees
Quarter end and year end balancing of payroll, benefits, etc.
2-4 years related experience working in a Human Resources department or similar role.
HR certificate or diploma is preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience working with remote offices and employees is a definite asset
Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills
Strong administrative skills with attention to detail
Experience with Ceridian payroll is a definite asset
Ability to exercise discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters
Demonstrate good judgment and the ability to work independently and take initiative
Working towards a CHRP designation would be an asset
Must be proficient in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel and Power Point.
