An exciting opportunity exists to grow and strengthen your skills as a Registered Nurse and work within a collaborative team at the Peter Lougheed Centre.
Unit 44 is a 32 bed in-patient medical unit providing excellent patient and family centered care supporting the acute care needs of our patients.
As a Registered Nurse on Unit 44 you will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team consisting of Nurses, Physicians, Allied Health professionals and support workers to promote patient care in a unit culture that values and respects individual team members and their expertise.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-
being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families.
You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance.
You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Required Qualifications :
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications :
Minimum 1 year nursing experience within the last 3 years in an acute care (medical / surgical) unit.
Preferred Qualifications :
Minimum 3 years nursing experience within the last 5 years in an acute care (medical / surgical) unit.Experience with SCM, Clinibase and Netcare programs.
Central venous catheter (CVC) certification. Patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) certification. Previous charge nurse experience.
Skin and wound care experience including VAC dressings.Participation in a unit or site based quality Improvement or safety council or other unit workflow review committee.
