PwC’s Technology Advisory practice provides consulting services in the market related to IT strategy and technology transformation work as well as specific strategic planning and support in areas such as enterprise architecture, integration, IT governance, outsourcing, agile and IT project management, cloud and emerging technology.

The Opportunity : Director, Technology Advisory

As a Director in our Technology Advisory practice, the successful candidate will be accountable for deliverable quality within the following areas :

  • Develop strategies, multi-phase integration roadmaps and architectures to support integration across platforms and systems
  • Investigating problem areas and following best practices
  • Determine technical feasibility and solve problems by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
  • Support establishment of integration best practices with clients (ex : Centre for Enablement)
  • Conduct vendor and product analysis on behalf of clients
  • Implement and test integrations by determining and designing integration specifications, standards and policies
  • Create detailed reference architectures for integration of new systems architecture into existing infrastructure
  • Improve business and software operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes
  • Ramp up quickly on new technologies, languages, frameworks, and approaches
  • Participate in the prioritization and execution of work within the architecture backlogs
  • Be a generalist with extensive background in the prevalent technologies in wide use today with an awareness of new emerging ideas
  • Be an inspired problem solver who is enthusiastic about developing high-quality solutions and making a difference
  • Team player with excellent communication, documentation and interpersonal skills
  • Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art integration tools, development techniques, and computing equipment, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications
  • Integration - Maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations
  • Requirements :

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in architecture or a senior specialist with a focus on integration or related experience with Middleware platforms (ex : MuleSoft, SnapLogic, Tibco, WebMethods, WebLogic, Fusion Middleware, etc.)
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in architecting solutions using REST based APIs
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience with API Management platforms
  • Delivery of technical presentations to senior executives and C-suit
  • Experience in Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and Enterprise Data Integration (EDI)
  • Experience working within an Agile and Scrum environment
  • Experience with JMS (Java Messaging Service) and similar integration patterns
  • Practical experience with popular programming languages ex : Java / JavaScript and messaging formats ex : JSON, XML
  • Familiar with Software Delivery Lifecycle best practices as it relates to integration
  • History in developing superior performing software solutions by studying needs, conferring with end-users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes
  • Strong background in investigating problem areas and following best practices
  • Experience with interoperability standards is a plus
  • Knowledge of security and inscription best practices (ex : SSO, HTTPS, SSL, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience deploying enterprise solutions
  • Equally comfortable working with on premise and cloud environments
  • Experience with UML modelling (ex : Component, Deployment diagrams) and / or Archimate
  • Proactive mindset, anticipating before problems and challenges appear
  • A demonstrable ability to show continuous improvement in abilities, quantity of output and quality of deliverables
  • Demonstrable ability to use right technologies and come to the right solution without being encumbered by trying to adapt what they have done in the past
