Role Summary

The HR Generalist is the first point of contact for human resource issues. They use their expertise to become a trusted advisor and coach who provides advice and support for managers and employees.

They focus on HR practices and objectives that provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the ongoing development of a superior workforce

This position does not have any direct reports.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Assists with the development of Human Resources policies and programs for the company with regard to employee relations
  • Participates in conducting investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth
  • Maintains employee-related databases and generates timely and relevant reports to the leadership team in order to support key people decisions
  • Advise managers on the progressive disciple system and counsel on employment issues
  • Assist with the development and implementation of the performance management
  • Assist with the establishment of an in-house employee training system that addresses the company's training needs including training needs assessment, orientation and onboarding, measurement of training
  • Assist with the selection and contracting of external training programs and consultants
  • Assist with the monitoring of the company wage and salary structure
  • Provides competitive market research and prepares pay studies to help establish pay practices and pay bands that help to recruit and retain superior staff
  • Provides day-to-day benefits administration services and assist employees with any claim issues
  • Assist with organizational development such as succession planning, employee retention, change management
  • Assist the Talent Acquisition team in full cycle recruitment and employment branding
  • Lead onboarding, ensuring a motivating and comfortable transition into becoming a Project X employee through personable introductions and orientation, as well as back-end processing
  • 3 to 5 years of Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience in

  • Working with managers on people-based issues and concerns (e.g., performance, behaviour, conflict resolution, termination) that impact individual and team relationships, performance and productivity
  • General knowledge in labour relation, compensation, organizational development, health and safety, training and development, talent Acquisition, employment law, etc .
  • Above average skills in Above average skills in communication, innovation, creative, solution-based approaches to solving problems, Level-headed decision making and ability to think on your feet, time management and change management
  • Extracting meaning from HR data and communicating metrics and insights that allow the business to achieve outstanding results
  • Collaborating with internal teams and clients, displaying an empathy-forward approach and collaborating with stakeholders to create optimal solutions
  • Leadership and integrity, establishing high-trust relationships and understanding what motivates and engages teams
  • Extracting meaning from HR data and communicating metrics and insights that allow the business to achieve outstanding results
  • Thriving in a growing, dynamic and highly-autonomous environment and enjoying the challenge of being self-motivated and driven
  • Meeting deadlines and commitments, being results-driven, action-oriented and motivated by getting things across the finish line
  • Nice to Have :

  • Partnering, coaching and advising all facets of a business from employee to executive
  • CHRP designation preferred, not required
  • Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in HR, Business, or related topic
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in either a start- up or IT environment
  • Work Environment

    Work takes place in office environments, either at Project X HQ or on various client sites.
