Full-Time Accounting & Finance

Description This reputable company is seeking a Controller through Robert Half Finance who has a knack for leading with high standards, positively motivating others, and making critical decisions as well as have experience supporting processes managed by the accounting department and assisting with various special projects.

  • This great opportunity is located in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories region and is a full-time position. As the Controller, you will have the ability to prepare written communications that are clear and concise;
  • knowledge of financial planning and strategies as well as the ability to exercise sound judgement and tact when dealing with stakeholders.

    The daily duties for this role will include but not be limited to the following :

  • Responsible for the completion and analysis of monthly Income Statement Reports;
  • Provide support through quarterly consolidation, annual budgeting process and annual audits;
  • Bank reconciliation process, corporate card reconciliation and purchase order systems and processes;
  • GST / HST returns;
  • Weekly processing of wire / EFT payments and bi-weekly posting of payroll transactions;
  • update and process monthly rent roll;
  • Work with various subsidiaries, including those which have contracted with the company and providing them with accounting services;
  • Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information;
  • Summarizing current financial status by analyzing general ledger accounts, compiling and submitting financial statements
  • Work closely with the CFO and Senior Accounting Manager on various projects; Requirements Qualifications for this role are :
  • 5 or more years of financial accounting experience
  • 1 or more years of experience with inventory in a construction environment
  • Degree in Business Administration preferably with a specialization in accounting or finance;
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively to meet tight deadlines;
  • Ability to identify financial risks and opportunities and provide sound advice that contributes to well-informed decision-making
  • Ability to research, analyze, forecast outcomes and develop recommendations related to financial or accounting processes;
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
