The IT Services Manager facilitates improved IT services for the business through the development and execution of necessary action plans.

You will design and implement projects, policies, and processes aimed at improving IT services, systems, and operations.

You will lead the IT team on strategies for improved services, performance, and reliability.

As IT Service Manager, your work will be a balance of looking inward towards the IT team and responsible technologies as well as looking outwards to understand business needs across various departments.

Accountabilities :

  • At the highest level, the overall quality and reliability of the IT Services at Foremost.
  • The Strategic direction of technology at Foremost, ensuring it supports the ongoing and future objectives of the business.
  • The Identification and practical elimination of security vulnerabilities with strategic solutions that increase systems security and support business continuity.
  • Responsibilities :

  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations, new systems or applications to effectively support business objectives.
  • Implementation of IT policies and processes that support strategies of ongoing IT services improvement.
  • Implementation and ongoing evolution and testing of an IT incident response plan.
  • Coordination of IT activities to ensure data availability and network services with as little downtime as necessary.
  • Support the development of a disaster recovery plan ensuring IT services are integrated into the plan.
  • Ensure a suitable data backup management program is in place, documented and approved.
  • Ensure work stations and other technology resources being deployed are meeting user needs.
  • Identification, planning and implementation of upcoming technology needs.
  • Monitoring the progress of IT projects and reporting on status.
  • Establish security and integrity monitoring protocols to protect assets and information in event of a malfunction.
  • Conduct IT risk analysis to identify current risk level and develop an action plan for minimizing risk to an acceptable level.
  • Perform IT administration and management duties as part of their plans for enhancing IT services.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of hardware, software and general IT systems by studying relevant publications and participating in educational programs
  • Additional duties as required
  • Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of proven experience in an information technology field is also required.
  • Experience managing IT professionals
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, commerce, software engineering, or a related discipline
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Strong coordination and collaboration skills to achieve set objectives
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with both stakeholders and team members
  • Awareness and knowledge of evolving technology landscape and how to leverage it
  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure and manage multiple staff at once to meet deadlines
  • Additional Requirements / Information :

  • This is a full-time, permanent position
  • This position will require travel to other sites within Alberta
