About the role

As a Service Manager you are responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the service and electrical department, overseeing our Service teams and ensuring all service calls are thoroughly completed from start to finish.

  • Primary responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all service & electrical personnel which include technicians, local dispatch, as well as parts management.
  • Oversee and manage National Accounts dispatch team.
  • Management of overall Service & Electrical Department efficiency.
  • Management of service fleet.
  • Management of Parts Department.
  • Management of overall customer service for service department.
  • Provide feedback to and recommendation on ways company can improve.
  • Coach and ensure technicians abide by all policies and procedures as described in NDS Service & Safety Manual.
  • Ensure all employees training and safety certificates are current.
  • Conduct truck audits to ensure trucks are being kept clean, organized, stocked and presentable.
  • Manage and enforce all existing truck usage policies.
  • Research and present ways to reduce overall fleet costs.
  • Manage and be accountable for Service Department plan and budget.
  • Provide feedback to constantly improve service department and company procedures.
  • Manage department annual performance review and approve all overtime.
  • Prepare for and facilitate all scheduled Service Department meetings.
  • Work with Operations Manager to coordinate, conduct, and keep record of monthly safety meeting with Service Department staff.
  • Work to keep NDS Safety Manual up to date and constantly improve.
  • Maintain and keep warehouse and office clean, presentable, and organized at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your Senior management team.
  • Qualifications

  • College diploma or University degree in business management or related field is required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing emergency service technicians, dispatchers, coordinators, and administration teams.
  • Experience in loading dock and door, and / or electrical industry is desired.
  • Must be PC literate with above average knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication, (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
