The Installation & Repair Technician will be responsible for ensuring the installation and repair of Business and Residential services are responded to and processed in a timely manner with a professional approach to customer satisfaction.
At all times, the Installation & Repair Technician is responsible for the ensuring the health & safety of themselves and customers in an environmentally friendly manner
Responsible for installing residential and business voice & data services and applications; other installation and repair as assigned;
voice, high speed internet and television services
Ensure customer expectations, through inquiries and requests, are met and exceeded with a high level of service
Communicate accurate details regarding the progress of the installation & repair and applicable charges, as well as any issues that may arise, to customers
Promote all client products and services including up-selling when appropriate
Provide accurate information on all job statuses; communicating any delays to the Frontline Manager and Dispatcher
Accountable for ensuring all prepared time sheets and expense reports are accurate and submitted on time
Follow all safety policies and initiatives and bring forth any recommendations; attend safety meetings as required
Other duties as assigned
Diploma or equivalent experience within the Telecommunications industry
Working knowledge of Copper and Fiber Infrastructure an asset
Read and interpret published work plans
Analytically and mechanically inclined
Must have a valid driver’s license and able to provide an Drivers’ Abstract and be willing to travel
Customer focused both internally and externally; ability to handle both favorable and unfavorable customers
Able to manipulate and climb ladders and poles
Proficient in Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work well under pressure with tight timelines and frequent demanding deadlines
Ability to self-start and stay on task with minimal supervision; identify problems and situations and implement solutions or escalate as required
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong work ethic; exceptional organizational and planning skills
Can-Do attitude and works well within a team environment
Commit to continuous learning; ability to learn and apply learned skills and complete and pass all related exams
Able to lift, carry and manipulate 75 lb extension ladder and climb poles with spurs
Must be willing and able to work various shifts as assigned (evenings, weekends & statutory holidays), based on business need
Must be willing to Travel
Ability to work independently in all weather conditions
